Young Cornrows of America

This series is about the cultural connection of the "African American" to this country and the values placed on the ideal of this country that historically continues to be denied systematically to a particular group. Historically, why would black youth be patriotic? We dont share that emotional connect, cause our cultural side of the tracks lacks patriotic treatment. The flag is such a loved and celebrated symbol, would it still be seen with the undeniable symbol of black youth and culture weaved into the composition. And with anything else, black folks gotta remix the flag. Not outta disrespect, but outta of a need to always add a little flavor.
